How Israel is vastly different from its neighbors.
History: Jews and Arabs in this region date back at least 5,000 years. But, Israel is the only democracy with free and open elections, including 25% of the voters- two million- who are Arab citizens. The Arabic language is co-official along with Hebrew, and Arabs are an inclusive, active part of gov't, business, education, the Arts, and every aspect of Israeli society and culture. By contrast, Jews have no safety, presence, or representation in any Arab country.
Another difference, Israel is a free society governed by laws and a Constitution. For example, Israel Is not a country that oppresses LGBTQ folks. There are only two Arab countries that permit gayness. On the contrary, most Arab countries routinely punish with prison or death by stoning, if you dare to be openly gay. Israel not only allows it but promotes it! Tel Aviv is among the top cities in the world for LGBTQ people to call home. This is crazy considering its small size. Gay leftist folks supporting Hamas is insane, considering the terrorists would kill them all without reservation. Hamas are not brave "freedom fighters".
They are cowardly, bloodthirsty monsters who shield themselves with civilians, women, children, and elderly, by taking over homes, schools, hospitals, and mosques. Palestinians are just pawns for the perpetual "intifada" to destroy Israel, and drive every Jew out of the Middle East. Arabs, Jews, and Christians have lived peaceably in Israel, but in almost every Arab country, other faiths are not protected or valued. There is no free press or free speech in any Muslim country on earth.
This coexistence is rooted in historical and cultural factors. Arabs, both Muslim and Christian, have been an integral part of Israel since its establishment in 1948. These are big, vital differences that cannot be ignored. Finally, the biggest difference in this war: Israel targets Hamas. Hamas targets innocent civilians. Where is the moral "equivalency"?
